Len Perna, President & CEO Turnkey Sports and Entertainment, was recently interviewed for a Crain’s Detroit Business article about the Ilitch family ownership of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.
“I would call him very disciplined as a buyer. Even though it was a dream, they were very realistic about what it would take to run that team,” Perna said of Ilitch. “They understood how challenging running Tiger Stadium would be. They knew they ultimately would have to work with city, county and state to get a new stadium, so they wanted to avoid overpaying for the Tigers.”
